Loss of Madeleine L'Engle

I must have been under a rock the last few months. It was with great shock that I opened November's SLJ to find a memorial to Madeleine L'Engle.

I can't believe I missed hearing about the death of one of my favorite and trusted authors of my youth. I am appalled at my lack of being in touch.

Visit her official website for more info and interesting links.

I'm glad I have read most of her books and own many of those same titles. I'm now researching to see if there are any I've missed. I always wanted to be Charles Wallace (I know--why not Meg?) but Charles Wallace so fit who I was--an outsider with ideas and thoughts of his own.

Wow! She's dead?! Man alive, I didn't know that until I read your blog, Liesl. Thanks for the update--I've been sick these past few days so keeping up with news hasn't been a top priority.

Cheers,
Memo

And a bit later in that issue of SLJ is a 2 page article.
